When God Speaks

God has never audibly spoken words to me, but every once in a while, if I look for him........He shows me that He is REAL and He is in charge.

A neat example of this happened to me last week.  I had LASIK eye surgery and was prescribed SIX hours of laying with my eyes closed.   I decided to lay and listen to a Beth Moore book.  I hit play on the audio book, So Long Insecurity, and she immediately told the story of Jesus Healing a blind man.  I could hardly believe that of all the bible stories that I could possibly have listened to, it was one about healing of blindness, as I laid there waiting for my blind eyes to heal.

In that moment, God reminded me that HE created me and HE has me in the palm of His hands.  He provided the resources to heal my blindness and He has the power to give me sight or take it away.  I am HIS and you are HIS.  He has got each of us in the palm of his hands and HE loves each of us more than we can fathom.

Isaiah 49:16
"See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me."

Olivia at 3.2

This is the sweet face I get to wake up to every morning. She yells, "mamaaaaaaaa!!" until I come get her.

She has 8 babies/stuffed animals in her bed. They all have names and stories....Ava gave her one in the hospital when she was born, daddy gave her one for valentines, mommy & daddy bought her one for birthday, mommy bought her one at Build A Bear.

Preschool on Pajama Day

We love our preschool.  It is Christian based and play based.  Ava has been there for 2 year old class, 3 year old class, 4 year old class and Pre-K.  This is Olivia's first year and she is in the 2 year old class.  I can't say enough great things about it.

This was pajama day.  Ava's class was 11 girls and 1 boy.  To say they had a fun year would be an understatement.

It was fun to see Olivia make new friends this year.  We heard a lot about her sweet friends.

Valentines 2015

Happy Valentine's Day from my sweet valentines!

Daddy surprised all three of his girls with some Valentine treats.

Mommy had valentine gifts for the girls as well.  I love getting to celebrate even the little holidays with my sweet girls!

These jelly beans have a yummy flavor and a nasty flavor that look identical.  You eat them without knowing what you are going to bite into.  It could be bubble gum flavor or it could be barf flavor.  It is so gross!

God's Dreams for you

It is easy to wonder if God is using you or you are doing all that he wants you to do with your life.  Sometimes I want to do something greater.........work as a missionary in another country or be the next Beth Moore.  Those are wonderful aspirations, but in the mean time, just be where God has placed you.  He has you just where he wants you.  Chase after him from right where you are.

Beth Moore once said, "Take care of the field that God has given you.  Then that field will grow and you will have a bigger field to take care of."

I encourage you to just focus on your field for today.  Do that to the best of your ability and trust God to grow you more and more each day.

Blessings

If you saw the size of the BLESSING coming, you would understand the magnitude of the battle you are fighting!

Life is hard.  It hurts.  We get beat up.  But God always brings something good out of the bad.  He is so faithful.  We may not see it this side of heaven, but He will bless us.

50 Shades of Gray

Disclaimer - No judgement from me if you have seen or want to see this movie.  This was just advice that was given to me by a godly friend and it was a blessing to me.

I don't know about you, but I love a good romance novel.  I can read a Nicholas Sparks book in one day.  So when everyone started talking about FIFTY SHADES OF GRAY, I was ready to rush to Target and buy a copy.  One of my sweet friends had read it and said if I hadn't started it, that she would not recommend it.  She said that it would put images in my mind that could not be erased.  I took her advice and never read the book.

When I saw that the movie was out, I was very tempted to check it out, but God tugged on my heart..........do I really want those images in my mind?  I decided not.

Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 10:3
For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to flesh.  For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.

Quiet Time

Spending time with the Lord each morning has truly changed my life.  If I only have 3 minutes to squeeze it in, I grab Jesus Calling off my nightstand and read it.  I have done this many times with my baby crying in her crib or a toddler cuddled up next to me, but the point is that I have given the first three minutes of my day to my creator, my Lord, the lover of my soul.

If I can get up 20 minutes earlier than my children, I will extend that quiet time from just reading Jesus Calling, to looking up the verses at bottom of page and writing my prayers in a journal.
